On the 6th of Febuary I got some new fish I got two electric blue rams another type of ram that I forgot the name of and two leopard danios I have had the tank running for a week and a half befor I got them. I put them in and one ram seems to be bullying the others and the danios bullying the ram
I have a 30l(8galllon) biorb tank
I keep it at 82f(24c)
Ph 8.4
Kh 360
Gh 500
No3 10
No2 0
Then thismorning I noticed the smaller of the rams had a big rip in it's fin. What should I do to stop them fighting. Please help

an 8 gal is not big enough for rams im afraid for this very reason, they can get agressive in small spaces, they all like there own territory which is probably what there fighting over

also the danios are not suitable, they require a larger tank due to there active nature, they also do best in groups of 6+

i'll leave the cycle part to someone else as i'm off to work :lol:

Wolfhawk10, what is your ammonia reading?

You aquarium is probably NOT cycled so the fish are very likely currently being slowly poisoned to death with ammonia. Get an ammonia test and if the reading is above 0.25 ppm, you should do 50% water changes with warm dechlorinated water until the reading falls well below 0.25 ppm.

As mentioned above, the fish you have are just not suitable for an aquarium that size:
1. aquarium is too small for both
2. danios are schooling (keep in groups of 6+)
3. danios are too aggressive for rams
4. rams can't live in such hard and alkaline water

So, I would strongly recommend that you return all your fish to the shop and do a fish-less cycle (a lot of information in the beginner's section), then stock with more appropriate fish.

If you are not willing to do a fish-less cycle, please, at least swap all the fish you currently have for 6 espei rasboras OR 6 ember tetras.

A good stocking for a tank that size would be..
* 6 espei rasboras OR 6 ember tetras (don't get over 2cm)
* 1 Betta splendens male
* 5 Otocinclus (add last as they are slightly fragile)
..which might leave you with room for couple more rasboras or tetras of the same species later.

Ty guys for the help will try to swap my fish and get the ones mentioned. Th guy at the shop said they would be fine together well nevermind ty again for help.
