Ever since a week ago when I got my 2 cory cats and 2 adfs, my fish (1 guppy, 4 neons) have taken to eating off the bottom. When I put the flake food in the tank, they just ignore it and stay around the middle of the tank. When they see me drop teh shrimp pellets in, though, they dive bobm them. I'm just wondering if this is normal? Has anyone else had fish that did this? I worry that either group won't get enough to eat this way. Maybe I should just not feed them at all for a day or so, then try the flakes again? I went from having upper, middle and lower dwellers to all being towards the bottom. They seem to be happy, they just won't come up for flakes.
Any suggestions?

nothing odd, shrimp pellets just tast better. mine do it as well. But if the tank is largenough, you should be able to put in the pellets on one side and flakes on the other for the top dwellers.

I have no problem putting the flakes in as far as room... they just keep their eyes peeled, and as soon as a pellet drops, they go after it. I've even tried putting the flakes in before, hoping they'll figure this is all they get. No go... they just swim around until a pellet comes. I'll just have to stop feeding for a day or so, maybe then the flakes will be more appealing to them! Should I worry, or just let them eat what they want?
