Right. So i'm recently new to the whole fish keeping buisness and i have a 5 gal cycled tank. But i've done alot of research to be sure that i will not harm my fish in any way. My starters, two balloon mollies, have been with me for over a month and i know my tank has cycled. I knew i had space for one-two more fish and since we have little choice of good fish where i'm at, i ended up settling for a female betta. I did my research and found that betas are decently compatable with mollies and i figured since females are reputed at being decently docile, that she'd be alright with my two boys. (Yes, they are boys. I've sexed them).
I"ve been feeding my boys a tropical flake and occasionally a piece of cucumber, zucchini or a pea...but now that i've got a betta (i've had them before) and i have her food out too. (currently just pellets, ihaven't moved on to worms yet) it seems like she's uninterested in eating and will not rise to the surface like my molly-boys do whenever i'm near the tank. I've attempted just to set food on the surface, but the boys eat it before she realizes it. I've also attempted to send food to her on the bottom with a straw...but to no avail. What can i do to help her?
