Hi All,

I have recently bought a 192 litre Tank and fishes from a friend who is moving to the Far East. The tank has :

3 x Five-banded Barb
2 x Porthole Catfish
1 x Bristlenose
1 x Angelfish
1 x Red Tailed shark fish

I've tried to introduce 6 Neon Tetras and they have all been eaten. A week later I've try to add 6 platy fish, 2 have been eaten so far....

I've tried to work out which fish or fishes that could have eaten them. The Angel fish is always chasing them as is the Red tailed shark.

Does anyone have any suggestions on who it could be or what I can do about it?

RTBS are aggressive fish and not suitable for tanks with other small fish

neons are the natural prey of angels

could be either, you need to do some further research into the fish you have and the ones you buy. the link in my sig 'how to work out stocking lists' should help you

Yeah, don't be fooled by the Angels gorgeous appearance, they're skilled hunters in the wild!! Rainbow sharks can be aggresive too but more opportunistic, ie if a small fish comes his way he'll go for it. Angle fish will have the fullest tummy though. I'm afraid you'll have to forget about small fish in a tank with an Angel and a Rainbow.

Thanks for all your advice. I've taken a look at your link and it's very helpful

Short of disecting the stomach contents of the suspects I'll never know!!!!

Thanks again
