I posted the following on january 22:

-------------------------------------
my tank ( the 29 gal) has been set up two months. I had 8 neons, a female betta, a baby angelfish, and 3 siamese algae eaters. All of the fish were happy, full collor swimming around without nipping at eachother. The water and temp were perfect 29f 0 nitrate 0 nitrite the water was soft, and the ph was 6.5 acidity was normal.. The plants in my tank were also healthy, i could tell because they were rooting, and i saw the anglfish uprooting them, so i think im going to take it back to the store.

I was feeding them the average tetra min flake food and i made sure they alll got enough, so i know they diddnt die from no food.

four nights ago, three of my neons died
three nights ago the rest of my neons died
two nights ago no fish died (yay)
last night my favortie betta died and one of my siamese algae eaters died (luckily i took a picture of the girl betta last night)
now all i have is the two siamese algae eaters and the baby angel who also have no signs of disease

-------------------------------------

I think i have some clues as to what the disease might be. Since i posted last, one of my algae eaters has died ( i think i saw it have a seizure) and the second looks like it is about to.

Both siamese algae eaters had blood red coloring on the inside of their gills and were breathing very rapidly, but not going to the top for air, just kind of resting on the bottom.

I put an airstone in and it didnt help at all, so i dont think they are suffocating.

I looked for any worms or parasites coming from the gills but couldnt find any, but i did find one of those gel things that parasites like ich come from and removed it, and since then have been dosing the tank with half a dose of rid-ick.

I think the fish were starting to loose scales on their stomach before they died too.

Maybe a gill parasite??

I also found some long white poo floating in the tank, maybe 1.5 inches and there were chunks of white in it. I would have taken a picture but my angelfish ate it.... :/

Gill Flukes

Symptoms:

Fish with gill flukes have gills that may appear red and inflamed, bleeding or slimy. Excess mucous or puss may exude from the gills. Sick fish can be observed gasping for air near the surface. This disease is most common in younger fish and fry, who are more susceptible to the parasite.

Cause:

The monogenetic fluke Dactylogyrus, which destroys gill tissue and damages blood vessels in this region.

Treatment:

Treat with Clout, Fluke Tabs, Paraform, Trifon, Paragon, Quick Cure, Formalin, orParasite Guard. Gill flukes are highly contagious, therefore, all fish in the same aquarium should be treated.

Was there any cysts on the body or gills, long stringy white poo can mean a number of things from constipation, internal bacteria infection, or internal parasites.

Okay, ill try those treatments, it makes me feel a lot better that i saw some symptoms in the fish and have somewhat of a lead. Thank you a lot for the information!!!

My fish once had gill flukes and they are quite hard to get rid off, so good luck, i will leave you another link to gill flukes.

i didnt see any cists on the gills, but i did see those parasite gel thingys that usually mean you have some sort of parasite.... and they had been in the fish because they were on plants that were not infected with them earlier.
