Hi Steve & welcome :)

We will need some more info- what is your exact reading for ammonia/nitrite/nitrate & ph?

How big is your tank and how long has it been set up?

And has angelfishguy mentioned...have you cycled the tank?

Could be a few things:

+ Immature tank leading to poor water quality - what are you exact readings for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH?
+ Poison in the tank - has anyone sprayed air freshener or anything? Any chemicals?
+ Poor maintainence leading to unstable pH/nitrate/hardness - how often do you do water changes and do you clean your gravel?
+ Poor quality test kit leading to inaccurate results and a false sense of security - what tests do you use and are they in-date?
+ Illness - any new stock recently? Do you isolate your fish for a few weeks before they go in your main tank?
+ Stress caused by overstocked tank/too small tank/incompatible fish/not enough cover/poor decor choice/etc - can you get a photo of the tank and tell us the stocking and capacity of it?
