Ermm I found out the nitrate was 100, I'm I'm guessing that's what the problem is.

Do you have other water stats in ammonia and nitrite.
Take a sponge out of the filer and slightly rinse it in old tank water if its really mucked up.
When did you last do a gravel vac.
The filter won't be keeping up with the loads of fish in tank. Till you rehome some fish just buy another filter like a fluval 2.
