hey guys.

off the top of my head I can't remember if i was posting on this forum when Fish Diary v1.0 came out for sale earlier in the year. that was a flop, despite all the seeming enthusiasm from people "wanting to buy it" virtually no one bought it, and the program went offline.

i didnt stop using it or tweaking it, and my fiancee and I decided that we should put it online for anyone who wants it, absolutely free. no adware, no viruses, nothing but the same program i'm using at home.

as of Thanksgiving Day 2008, Fish Diary v1.1 is available from our website, free, to anyone and everyone using Microsoft Windows systems.

for more information and/or to download it www.keepitfishy.com/diary.htm

i use it daily, and I think every fish keeper should too

PS. i apologize for those of you who, like me, are members in more than one forum and will see this post more than once

It sure is very nice of him-but i'd be wary of a name like TROJAN nemo !!!!!!! :shifty:

Is it just me or is it another thing to do after servicing the tanks each day.?

fair enough! though that name goes way back before i ever joined any fish forums or thought about fish diary. my nickname was always Nemo with my friends after Jules Verne' Captain Nemo. by the time i got online obviously that name had been taken. so added the trojan in front 'cause that was my high school mascot

Why?
back when i was trying to sell it i tried justifying the reasons to everyone. now that it's free, i think you can download it, try it and see it for yourself. it's not for everyone, and not everyone will appreciate it. but i believe some people will.

pretty much. i use it everyday whenever i do something in the tank. you can use it more sporadically, like only when a fish dies or gets a disease...or you can be like me, and put in even when you add aquasafe or stick your hands in the tank

good luck with in from now on in, i know you have put a lot into it :) shame it didnt make you vast amounts of cash but that life, enjoy and be proud :)

Well I have to say...I think I like it. Ill let you guys know if I KEEP liking it...but so far its a good thing. Took some time to set up, but thats just because I had a *small* inccident with my camera.

***It fell in the fishtank when I tried to get a pic of my RTBS......***

LOL

I like the look of this mate. When I get my 180L up and running I might give it a go. What you want to do is add more features for a small donation (volantary amount) like a feature to format and upload info to a webspace for example. Also being able to have two or three copies on a network and syncing between but that's maybe a bit ott but it is an example. Certainly being able to export the data would be useful. Just ideas!
