Hi all,i have lost three fish recently and all appear to have gone the same way.bloated, bent body, splayed scales to the point of sticking outwards then death. No other symptons beforehand no marks or spots etc.could this be swim bladder?or internal bacteria infection?Just looked in my coldwater tank and one of my fish in there is bent but not bloated but he is struggling!!!!!Help!!!

Yes you have something nasty.
Are there spines bent as that can be old age, fish tb, to internal parasites.
Or is it just the tail region that bent as you see that with dropsy, is the anus red and inflamed as that can point to dropsy and internal parasites.
I would issolate the sick fish.
Any fish gone thin.
What type of fish were they that died.
Take a look here first but don't panic.

just the tail section is bent what is dropsy?

I had some platy like yours with the swelling and bent tails, it wasnt tb there tail just bent as they were really bloated.
Epson salts baths to help draw the fluids out, but to be honest once they tails bends they tend not to make it.
I would go and get a bacterial med like anti internal bacteria by interpet.

Once scales stick out I'm afraid its organ failure and they rarely make it.
