Hi i'm new to both tropical fish keeping and this forum. Can someone help with a potential problem i may have, I have recently bought a tank that was established and held mainly "Convict Cichlids" i did not want these fish and my local tropical center agreed to take them off my hands. I now have community fish in the tank which are "Flash light Tetras" "Zebra danios" and some male and female "Guppies" plus one "Algae eater" . When i was rounding up the "Convicts" i obviously missed one so there is one of those in the tank as well, yesterday morning i got up and one of the "Guppies" was dead on the bottom of the tank but it was part eaten. My question is "Could the convict have murdered the guppy and started to eat it or have i to look else where? Cheers.

the guppy probably died from disease or poor water quality and the convict simply ate part of the body. Most fish will pick at dead or dieing fish in the tank.

Welcome to the hobby and forum :)

hiya i'm new to both as well, but my tank is still establishin so no fish for me  hows it all going
