This is an important article. Especially if you are a sports fisherman.
 
I dislike things that are believed simply because believing them is convenient for us. It's lazy thinking. The idea that fish don't feel pain because, uh, they aren't smart enough to understand the messages coming from an advanced nervous system is a classic one. Most people will just reject that article.
 
As a "fisherman" we severed spine right behind the skull of all fishes that couldn't be kept under water until the time comes and put them on ice. Fish caught over the ice where killed, eviscerated immediately and frozen in snow. Tomcods had to be frozen to death immediately out the hole.

Everyone was agreeing this was the humane way to do and worth the effort...

Our indigenous tribes speaks often of eating animal who suffered long death was not good for the soul.
