Fish Compatibility

Hello,

I am looking for fish that will do ok by themselves that will be ok with an angelfish. I can find ones that are ok in schools but not alone. the closest i have come in the loaches but even they prefer some friends of the same spieces. can anyone help me???

I have a couple of bolivian rams with my angel. Or you could even go with german rams. Both of these stay pretty small and you can have them by themselves. I had one bolivian ram for some time and he got along fine by himself. I ended up buying another one just because I like to have things in pairs.

thanks guys im trying to do a community tank so dont think that cichlids will work, and i know for a fact that the betta wont work (my angel doesnt like them as ive tried) any more suggestions?

Dwarf cichlids such as rams & apistos will work. I've also kept kribs with angels with no problem. Plecs work well with angels, I've been keeping platys with angels for quite a while.

You could go with something a bit different like one of the small spiny eels such as a zig-zag eel.

thank you very much for the replies. I think i am going to change my stock around to include a few of the bolivian rams. i saw them at the store today (didnt get yet) and they are really interesting looking. thank you all.

Anything thats not small enough to be eaten. Apart from African cichlids.
