Somehow one of my GSPs got wedged against the heater and some decor (I just re-arranged). Now there looks to be a burn on it's side, at least I think it is. The "burn" was not there before it got stuck, so that is why I think it is a burn. The fish does not look to be in any stress or pain (hard to tell and I can't ask  ). Is there anything I can do to help or maybe something I can rub on it?

How deep is the burn.
Melafix.

Deep? as in how bad. It doesn't look to be very bad, although it has swelled up slightly and one of her black spots looks a little pinkish. I just freed her (I call it a her and the other one a he, of course I'm not sure on the sex) about 15-20 mins ago so it could still get worse. Is there anything I should watch out for, I've never had a fish that got burned on a heater before. Also should I add the Melafix to the tank or directly on the wound.

Forget the melafix can you issolate the fish as I would go in with a bacterial med now if there pinkish marks on her and the wound is deep.

What bacterial meds do you have in stock.
You could always clean the wound up with melafix, but if the wound is deep she open now to infection internally.

O.K. I have some Instant Ocean Lifeguard tablets (do you know of this product) will these help. It states on the box "Treats a broad range of marine fish diseases: bacterial, fungal, viral, & parasitic" or should I use something more specifically for bacterial infections.

P.S. the active ingredients in the Lifeguard are: 1-chloro-2,2,5,5-tetramethyl-4-imidazolidinone, as stated on the box

No I wouldn't use it.
Go in with the melafix as you can use that with bacterial meds anyway.
Need something like maracyn one and two, or an antibiotic like tetracycline but get a brand that dosn't wipe the bacteria colony out in the filter.

O.K. I think I can take it from here now, and I'll post if symptoms get worse, likewise I let you know when she is better.
Thanks for all the help Wilder your a great asset to the site.
