So my Americana’s so far are doing good. The itch seems to have gone after increasing water temperature for 2 weeks.

Today I did a usual water change and also rearranged some rocks and plants. The fish really freak out when I do this and run into the glass and rocks etc.

It seems one of the bigger blue eyes has literally given himself a blue eye? It looks like bruising coming out around his eye and gill, can this happen?

Also regarding the rearranging, is this ok to do every so often? Or should the same setup be kept for as long as possible?

Ideally you should keep it set up in a certain way for as long as possible so it doesn't stress the fish. And if you are moving a lot of stuff around, get a bucket of the TANK water and set the fish in that. Its what I did when I did my re-scape and it worked great!
When the fish are placed in the bucket it can be stressful but not as stressful as sitting in a tank with a hand coming down, moving everything. And remember, you shouldn't do this often. Try to get it setup in the way you want it, that way you and the fish can enjoy it for as long as possible with no stress.

A few questions (and I have never seen any fish with a black eye).

What's an americana? Is it a typo?
Blue eyes?
What are you trying to accomplish with moving the decor around?

Could be blue eye rainbowfish. Almost look like threadins.

Blue eyed Cichlids (several species), blue eyed rainbows (a number of species). blue eyed rasbora, blue eyed Poropanchax (several species), threadfins... it's a problem when a question is asked and only one or two words are left out that could help the people who might know the answers that would help. No disrespect intended to the original poster, but often when we compose onphones we go too fast to get answers.

Yes. That was just the first fish that came to mind 😅

Americana is central American cichlids.

Blue eye cichlids (Cichlasoma sajica)

Don't move ornaments around in the tank. Cichlids set up and establish territories. If you move something, you screw up the territory and fights can occur because the fish have to re-establish what they once had.

Yes fish can injure themselves by swimming into things in the tank.
Post pictures of the injured fish.
