Fish Breeders - Where Are You?

Could we get a new pinned topic or forum section on the go?

As seen in the buy and sell section- could we instead of having Uk or USA have counties listed (or states in the US)? And another folder for people that will post fish/etc so available in all counties/states.

...anyone know who could do this?
how is this relevant? and that is way too specific, people state where they are situated in their add.

I was just thinking It would be great if we had this broken down and pinned in the fish type sections. so if you want a catfish there is a pin in the catfish section with list of breeders rather than this post getting lost in the tropical discussion section

were getting to the point where if we have anymore pins you have to scroll right- down the page, to find topics

there are different strains but not a different species, (bristlenose)
so all bristlenose sub species are specified by L182?
their arent any sub species to my knowledge

was just a thought as I know how many tropical discussion threads we have

ok are you sure, i'm not but would love to clear it up, i thought there are countless Ancistrus species and sub species, many of which have bristles??? These surely can't all be catagorised by the same L number????

i think there are different strains, but not sub species but im unsure, pm inchworm and ask her.

but to my knowledge all the same L number

ok after doing quite a bit of reading i'v gathered there are over 50 sub species of the Ancistrus species, the 'common bristlenose' is impossible to identify as a specific sub species of the Ancistrus group so is known as simply Ancistrus Sp or L032 - this is the fish i breed. The most readily available specific species are the Ancistrus Dolichopterus, i've read that this is L183, there seems to be a lot of confusion between that and Ancistrus hoplogenys which is L182, in the common market. I can't believe i've never read into this before, it really is facinating, wikipedia has a fantastic list of all the L numbers, here is the link if your interested:

i feel relieved to have cleared that up  And now i know exactly which fish i breed
