Fish Gatherer
One of my female bettas doesn’t seem to be too well.
I’m actually surprised she survived the night in all honestly.
She basically seems like an ‘asthmatic fish’. She is fine for months and then all of a sudden she is breathing really heavily for a day then she’s back to normal; but this latest “incident” happened Monday and she was breathing REALLY heavily, then the following day she was breathing heavily and fast and now this morning she was breathing heavily and slower (normal rate).
Water stats are always ok; but I can check again tonight to be on the safe side. Nothing new has been added to the talk; other inhabitants are other females and a nerite snail; it’s a 14 gallon tank.
I do have an air stone in there but it’s not often on due to the noise and the tank location, but I had it on the other night to see if it made a difference but there was none.
All of the other fish seem perfectly fine.
Any ideas? I’m a bit stumped.
