Hi,
i only have 2 plattys in my tank at moment, but 1 of them is getting rather territorial of tank,& also when feeding time. It is bigger than the other one & rams into little one.I thought plattys got on together ??? Think big one is male & little one female, should i get another one so he wont pick on same fish.....if so what sex....or should i get him out of tank ?

you should have at least 3 platies, if not more. most fish are not good in pairs, as the stronger one will always bully the weaker one.

you should have at least two females per one male as well. three females per one male is preferred. if you have two males and one female, that poor girl's going to constantly be tortured and the males will be more likely to fight over her.

Male livebearers are little sex fiends, which is why a 1:2 ratio is suggested, to take the strain off the female. Particularly when she is about to give birth it's helpful to have another female to keep the male occupied.
