I fed my fish as usual tonight- flakes and an algae wafer for my Bala to munch on. Generally, all the other fish ignore the wafer completely; maybe giving it a bit of a nibble if they happen to pass by. But tonight, my Angel decided he wanted to eat it, which he's never done before. Bala Shark didn't like this one bit, so they started to fight each other for the wafer, really aggressively. I had to distract the Angel with some more flakes, then put in another wafer at the other end of the tank just so they'd stop attacking each other. Once they had a wafer each they calmed down.
These two have shared a tank for at least 5 years, 3 of which I've owned them for, and I've never seen them aggressive with each other like this. Is there anything that could have brought on the change in behaviour?
(Tank and stock is in signature; I know Bala shark really shouldn't be in it but I'm having a lot of trouble re-homing him. Tank has been running for 4 months, most recent addition was a Bristlenose 3 weeks ago, and a few live plants 1 week ago. All the other fish are acting as per usual
