Fish Behavior

Hi,

As a newbie to all this fish keeping thing i check (watch) my fish every day for signs of happiness, illness etc in all my fish. I guess you experts do it all the time too. All my fish seem very happy however the gold barbs sometimes do this funny somersault in mid water. Is this a sign of happiness or is there something seriously wrong??!! They seem happy enough and this usually happens an hour or two after i turn the lights on. I have also seen my dwarf danio (one of the two i have) perform this weird somersault move! When not performing this move they seem to swim around/behave very normally.

Please tell me that this just means they are 'lovin it'!!

gold barbs are very active and wild( as u have already found out) so the "somersaulting" probably just means that they're excited. i would still watch them carefully though to make sure they're not having any trouble keeping their balance,scratching etc.
