I thought I'd post a video of my fish begging for food. The platies do it each time I approach the tank but the rest respond to the squeeky sound the lid makes. I dosed some ferts for the plants and everyone got excited over it. They've forgotten they were fed already today...

For anyone taking notice of the guppy with the split tail, it's his own fault. I've got a few males and their gathering spot is infront of the filter flow, next to where a 2800L/H powerhead is blowing too. They never got any complications from it and it heals back in days. I've noticed that the roughest looking male is normally the dominant in the group.

healthy fish should always look hungry, that doesn't mean you should keep feeding them,

mine all go to the front of the tank when anybody walks into the room

I don't feed them each time they do that of course :) But the tank is in the sitting room so they don't bunch up when there's someone in, only if I approach the tank.

My tiger barbs do the same thing! You'd think it was days since I last fed them. Pigs.

Great video, who ever said fish have a three second memory hey? :D

Intelligent too considering they know its you who feeds them :)

I think fish have definately longer memory than 3sec.
There was a friend's kid that stayed with us for a month in the summer and after watching me so many times,  he wanted to put his hand in the tank so the fish come up the same way they do when I put my hand in. He washed his hands and all, put his hand inside, nope, the fish would not come. They kind of started at first, then they ran off and it's not like he moved his hand or anything. They can probably sense the smell too, I don't know.  He was a bit disappointed the poor thing.
