hi, first post and i seem to have a problem, my tank is a jewel 240L ,i have been up and running for around four month now, i have kept tropicals before but years ago. Since we started again we keep losing fish ,neon's, guppies, harlequins, and albino cat fish, but now the fish i have left are platies, clown loach, are all losing color, the platies were a real deep red now they seem to be pale with like flake on them, ive been treating for white spot done water tests and that all seems OK, water changes the ones i have left seem to be eating OK, but look frail

i really do need some new ideas, also my plants keep dieing even though i use plant food

When you say flakes on them, do you mean little white spots or something else? Just to avoid confusion.

Could you tell me your water parameters : nitrate, nitrite, ammonia, PH please.

Is it possible that you have non aquatic plants that have been rotting and polluting the tank?

(this post took 5 hours to get through, this suspension is rediculous)

Hello Jarvo and welcome to TFF.
Can you post all your water test results, this is always a good starting point so that the members can help you with your issue.

Keep us posted, Skins.

Need more info i'm afraid.

How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
What's the make of the test kit you are using.

Being pale can be a sign of stress, bad water quality, disease.
First thing to rule out is bad water quality when you have problems.
