Ok... I know fish can have peas, lettuce, cucumber, zucchini.

Been informed they can have oranges (goodf or constipation?) and melons.

What kind of melons?

Also are there any other fruit you can feed freshwater fish? Any that are down right toxic to them?

How often can you feed your fish veggies? fruits? When is it too much?

I am interested to find out because I am trying to vary my fishes diets. I have mollies, platies, tetras, corydoras and bettas (in various tanks).

Thank you for any help.

I don't know about the fish you have, but I know my clown loaches go mad for bananas. I would think that as long as it is not overly acidic (citrus fruit?) you'll probably be OK. Maybe someone else can answer a bit clearer in regards to the fish you have!!
I always try to get organic stuff as well, just eliminates the pesticide possiblity!!

Your mollies and plattys should tear up veggies the corys and tetras will not be as enthusiastic about them. I have fed some fruit manly apples, bannanas, cantelope and casava melons. Most of my fish do not like the fruit to much with the exception of my Oto's they love Casava melons. Oranges I have never used, nor would I try them. To pithy and sugary IMO might be nice for a pacu or other big herbivore.

we've fed our plecs Melon in the past - Honeydew

went down rather well once they got the idea they could eat it ;) :D

Honey Mellon is my common plecos favorite thing in the whole world! As soon as he sees it coming towards his tank he gets all exited and has his mouth around it before I've had chance to stick the clip thing its held with to the glass

BANANAS! No-one ever mentioned bananas as clown loach food stuff before! Do I have to prepare them in any way or just chuck in a lump? How long should I leave it in before it makes the wter yukky?

When I had mollies they used to go mad over a tomato (slice), didnt seem to like the skin though. :)
