Hey guys

I'm a first timer in a way because I had goldfishs, few crayfishs, 1 frog like (forgot the name) when I was a kid, but I watched my dad takes care of it and all.

So now i'm 19 year old and deicded to buy some fishs for me. I was hoping you guys help suggest some species. I want to get a school fish, basically some same type fishs in 1 tank.

I was surfing the net a while ago looking at some species, I like the tiger barbs

So for every species that you suggested can you state the minimum number of fishs in a tank and the recommended tank size.

Thanks

hmm tiger barbs are nice too bad i cant afford a lot of them. ghost catfish are nice. i would keep 4 in a 10. neon tetra are aweosme hardy i would keep 4-10 in a 5. but what tetras pretty much any of them are nice too. they are really ncie and easy to take care of. and inexpensive lol. but gouramis are awesome. dwarf gouramis make good community fish imo. bettas go well witht he gouramis. they kinda grow fast depends on the sepcies tho. gouramis would probably do best in 20+. hope that helps. thats just from what i've experienced or heard about.

what you need is a smallish tank. bout 2 foot if u can place it anywhere. that means it wouldn't take too much to take care of. unlike the little plastic tanks that u usually see goldfish in which takes alot more to take care of funnily enough.
maybe you would like some platies? they are really colourful and you could fit a few of them in a tank this big. those are live bearers tho which means they have little platies instead of eggs.
tigers barbs ARE gorgeous. they do get pretty large tho, for a schooling fish that starts off as big as a neon tetra. they grow quickly but from experience, green tigers are abit smaller and the albino tigers are abit bigger. i have a 30ish mixed school and the pecking order is like a daily routine but is great to watch. a 2 foot tank would be perfect for about 10 of these and a few maintanence fish like a pleco (be careful with choosing one of those tho because they grow huge!) and a catfish or 2 like clown loach (which i wouldn't recommend for a begginer so maybe a corydoras or 2?)
if you were to get tiger barbs, would would have to be careful of chosin a big fish if u were wanting to add one (like a cichlid or something) because big fins + tiger barbs = no big fins anymore. they are ravenous and become even more terrotorial as they become larger.
alot of plants and about 3 rocks, maybe caves would be great for something like this.
sorry if ive rambled on, ive just now got a cat to look after too lol and correct me if im wrong about anything plz

there are alot of websites that give you a good idea of what fish to buy for the size of the tanks you want. i dont acctually know one but im sure some one would be able to come up with one.

I'm not going to put any other type of fishs beside tiger barbs, Its just going to be Tiger barbs only. How many tiger barbs can I put for each size tank/bowl

If you only want tiger barbs, 2ft long minimum, longer is much better, and then maybe one for every one and a half gallons volumewise (on a standard rectangular tank). Obviously this doesn´t apply if you want any other fish.
