Hi all i recently posted a thread asking about the fluval flora as my first tank but lots of ppl say buy the biggest tank possible or you will regret it, i have been looking at the fluval osaka 155 anyone have any reviews on tank ? ( i want a beautiful planted tank) what do you think start small with 30l or go right for larger tank ? i think i might squeeze this in my house lol

Thanks Dean

i would go with the osaka! i have always wanted one of those but no room and the open top is not a good plan with the cats!! bigger tanks are much easier in terms of maintaining water parameters and i have heard the osaka is well built. bigger also gives more choice for fish and plants.

L :good:

I'd defo go larger - i started off small and wish i never. the fluval osaka 155 isn't really the type of tank i'd go for as i prefer more rectangle tanks, which also is better for your fish. Have a browse for a decent large tank - plenty of bargains about.

Good luck.

mmmmm...yes in a way i kind of agree with tropicallad. the osaka is a beautiful looking tank but that may be the problem. the tank may actually take away from what is in it!! i still want one though!! lol

i also like the fluval roma 200 but the filter it comes with is internal but i suppose i could buy an fluval 305 and used it externally what you guys think ? i could ask the retailer if i could let him keep the internal and pay a little extra for the 3-5

roma or osaka ?
thanks for you oppinons guys and i know what you mean about it being square and rectangle looks better

thanks dean

I have a Fluval 200 Roma, can't knock it really. As said, an external filter would be better than the provided internal filter.

The Osaka is a beautiful tank in my opinion, lovely piece of furniture!

Both i'm sure will do a cracking job for you!

James.

thanks james , like the shape of the roma better less deep more rectangle any one else thin fluval roma or osaka ?
also should i get external filter if i get roma 200

thanks dean

Yeah I would say the Roma is more practical due to it's typical fish tank shape.

And you would in my opinion need an external filter for the Roma. I run an AquaManta EFX 300 :good:

I have the Roma 200, the U4 it comes with is a very good internal filter but takes up a lot of space.
I run a Fluval 406 on mine now.

You could consider the Osaka 260 which would give you a longer footprint. Stunning tank !
