First Planted Tank

I want to have my first planted tank, currently I only have plastic plants and a Marimo ball. So, what plants are good for beginners? What do I need to do? I have incandescent lights that are 50 watts in my 10 gallon, so, 5 watts per gallon. What do I need, what are good beginner plants, what do I need to know, and do you have any tips?

5wpg is high. so your going to need co2 and ferts. unless you can lower the wattage. you might be safe as there incandescent.(i dont know much about them)
easy plants are:
crypts
java fern
java moss
anubias
Amazon sword

and lots more.

i dont know much about your light.
