Here we have:

9 gold (white) gouramis
10 red platies
10 bronze cories
11 cardinal tetras (will become 20 soon)
2 young common plecos (to be exchanged with 2 bristlenoses as soon as the FLS gets them)

Very nice! What kind of sand did you use?

Really love the wood ...

hmmm... actually thats probably the only question i cant answer, the shop owner where i bought the aquarium from threw in two bags that had no labels on them of this off-white sand which he said plants would do ok in if we added some fertilizers, im guessing he gets it in bulk... anyway, the surface of the sand turned into a light brown about 3 weeks later, which i like cause it looks more natural, and the plants have been doing well without any ferts so far!

Very nice tank and nice stock to, love those red platies, I have some in my smaller tank, great colour.

Hope you don't mind a tiny bit of constructive criticism :D?... You could make a really, really amazing aquascape with those pieces of wood. The position of them needs a bit of work in my opinion rather than slap bang in the middle. Loads of possibilties but you could have one at either end, pointing at each other surrounded by plants with a bare patch of substrate running through the middle. Or you could try and raise the substrate level in one back corner and have both woods elevated to make a 'triangle' scape. Moss growing on the branches would look excellent too.

One other thing, is that java fern front left? if so it needs to be planted above substrate level. Attached to wood or rock works well as the plant won't survive if the rhizome is buried.

Anyway, cheers for sharing the pic, you have a great set-up there with a lot of potential. :good:

Love the wood! Would love to attach some things to it :)

I did wonder about the Java ferns though, possibly put them on the wood with some moss?

:)

Thank you very much for the ideas, I realize that placement of the wood is a bit too cliche but i guess im a bit too square when it comes to design, i still find myself looking for cemetery when usually it bothers me in other peoples work! That said though you are right, but i need to ponder it a bit and decide on what can be done...
That is java fern, and thank you very much, i thought it lives whether planted like a regular plant or attached to wood or rock, i'll figure something out for it asap!
Thank you again!
and thank you Rob!
