First Bubblenest

My little Strudel has made his first bubblenest in the time it took me to take the dog to the vets and come home. I know it's sad to get excited about it......but he's my boy

great news!! surprising how quick they can build when they want to, now watch him make it into a monster nest and then you'll pop with too much pride. proves to be very happy betta maling nests without the presence of a female (female betta that is )

Although I am left with a question; if you don't plan to breed him, what do you do with the nest? I mean, do you leave it in there, take it out, etc?

We have been thinking of possibly putting him with our cambo female but not sure what would be the best match for him. I did see a female that matched him exactly on aquabid but it was US only!!!!

Nightlad.......we just leave it alone. Our other male PK makes them, then they disappear, then he makes another

I know I still do
I had to put styrofoam into my guys tanks/sections for them to make their bubblenests under.

Rex attacked the foam at first, but when I woke up, I was greeted by his first little bubblenest yay! heh
While Sherbert, he's made me bubblenests before when the sword plant leaves have reached the top in his tank, but b/c they're staying low, he wasn't making any, so after he eyeballed the foam for forever, he went to work on a bubblenest

It's just exciting and you can't help but feel proud heh

Thanks Amunet My friends think I'm absolutely potty I get so excited everytime he does something. He will even jump to take the food off my finger now too. At least I can come on here without people thinking I've lost the plot (or maybe they do ) ha ha.

Lol.. I know how you feel.
My fiance thinks I'm crazy. I'll watch my bettas as I'm sitting at my desk and will burst out laughing over something they do. And when he asks what I'm laughing at and I tell him... he just gives me that Ooooooookaay....... look lol.
