First Brush With Ick

My two rummy nose tetras have ick in my 30 gallon community filled with fish i am getting medicine tomorrow but the question is do i treat the whole tank or put them in the hospital tank and treat the two there

You treat the entire tank, I think the parasites drop eggs in the substrate and they need to find host within 2-3 days or they'll die. You can also raise the temperature to over 80degrees (as much as ur fish can tolerate) the parasites don't tolerate those high temperatures, airstones should help for extra oxygen. Also look for medication that's safe for scaleless fish. Good Luck!

Also do i remove the carbon from my filter

Yes u remove the carbon. Sometimes just the heating method works, but in my experience I used the heating and medication to be safe and it worked pretty fast.
