I have a 10 G aquarium, with blue round stones (substrate) and 1 tall artificial plant, 1 small artificial plant, 1 power filter, and a hood with an indalescent light. Its the 10 gallon starter kit from tetra care purchased from Wal-Mart and is inhabitad by a male betta

I want to make the interior look fancy.any suggestions? stones? rocks? bogwood? plants? light bulbs? lighting? pics?
remember its a 10 gallon tank

also, I dont want anything that changes the chemistry of the water. like ph or hardness.

I also have a clay flower pot in, does that chnage the water chemistry?

clay flowerpots won't affect the water chemistry at all.
Avoid white rocks like limestone and sandstone because they will raise the PH of the water.

It's pretty hard for us to tell you how to decorate your tank because everyone is different and what makes my day might turn you off :) But plants always look good in groups so maybe add a bunch of plants to the tank. Have some taller ones at the back and shorter ones on the sides.

Bogwood can look good. And some rocks...with it being a betta im not sure it really matters but some fish tend to like dark spots inbetween rocks behind plants, things like that.

With any decor i'd say just watch the way the water flows around it, sometimes if you put things in certain places it ends up collecting the waste and uneaten food or whatever.Which can make it look a little messy. Then again...if you're willing to clean it out often enough it could be an advantage :p

I heard that bogwood changes the water chemistry though...

what do you mean watch out for water flow? do you all have pics so I can have an example?
Im also going to put platys in

It's only a small point.I mean the power filture...what that will do is take in water from the bottom, and spray it back out through a hole at the top (presumably!) So it creates a flow, or current. Sometimes, as happened in my case, i placed a rock in the tank, and the debris floating around got stuck under it a lot, because of the way the current was flowing.

But it's nothing to worry about!really.

Bogwood can change the water chemistry slightly, but if you soak it before you put it in your tank to release most of the tannins (brown colour) that should help.Again..nothing to worry about though.

What are some easy plants to take of? I bought a Honeywort, doies anyone know anything about these?

I heard that the amazon sword plant is easy
