I was considering getting a firemouth pair but question if it is a good idea. I can get a pair from a local breeder.. My question is how big of a tank would I need. I read that a 25 gallon tank would be them minimum for a pair but that seems a little to small. This is my source for that info:

Any insight or other info for firemouths?

Twenty five gallons would be about right for a pair of firemouth and only the firemouths.
Were it me,, a 29 gal would be my choice, and a filter capable of filtering six times the volume of water the tank holds each hour.(180 gal per hour).IMHO

Hmm. It may say that, but I did possess a breeding pair several months ago and the male was 6 to 7 inches, and the female was 4 to 5. So, I don't know if a 25 would be sufficient. The bigger the better.
