Firemouth

saw some really lovely firemouth cichlids in the shop today, would one be alright with the following:

2 x khulie loach
3 x zebra danios
3 x lepard corries
1 x gold ram
1 x dwarf gourami
2 x apistogamma trif.

its a 100 litre tank - i have a feeling this is too small - am i right?

my ph is 8.5 (i know i know but i live in london) - will this be a problem?

You might get a better response in the new world cichlid section. But I Googled the fish in question and there was a great page with buckets of information about them.

I wouldn't put a firemouth with those fish, aggression is a likely problem with those fish coming out worse.

A Firemouth on its own or maybe a pair could work in a 100 litre tank but not with all the other fish you have. Aggression and overstocking would both be big problems IMO.

I agree with the above - It's not a good mix. A 100l tank is about the minimum for firemouths and it's quite likely to eat everything else in the tank.

Wouldn't eat but would attack/ be territoral towards. Maybe after killing the other fish it may eat some of it though.

You are right on that. Poor choice of words on my part. The intent would be to kill/chase it out of it's territory, but if it fits in it's mouth - dinner.

I have a small firemouth and he ate 5 neons and a cat fish. I had a pair before and they were very aggressive and territorial, not a community fish in my book.

if you had a ph of 8.5 and tap nitrates of 50mg / litre and 100 litres what cichlids would you choose?

don't worry i'm not going to add them to the fish above but have been given a friends old 100l tank!

What are the dimensions? 25g so maybe a firemouth, pair of n. brichardi, kribs, rams, apisto's, shell dwellers, a convict there's a few options.
