Firemouth Needs Help

I have had them for about a year now been housed in a 55gal but recently moved to a 45. 4 firemouths & a convict (he was the largest convict of my 4). the 3 others are still in the 55 as they were the ones bein aggressive towards the others. all seems to be fine as far as aggression in the 45. but my largest firemouth had a fungus on his eye the covered the whole eye. treated it wil fungus cure by API. & also finally remembered the aquarium salt which the 55gal also had. the fungus is gone now, but the eye still looks clouded. & seems to not respond to stuff that would be viewed with that eye. possible it has gone blind? anything I could do? would it be an idea to move him into the 55 & the other 3 into the 45?

If I understand you right, you have 8 fish, 4 firemouths and 4 convicts?
The 45 has 4 firemouths and 1 con, and the 55 has 3 cons?

I think your tank size cant deal with the level of aggression these fish have, you should look at removing fish, having one pair in the 45 and possibly 2 pairs in the 55 (this still may not work due to aggression). The fish choice is up to you, though I will say breeding pairs are a nightmare in a community enviornment.

With regards to your FM eye, give it lots of water changes and stress as low as possible, if you could get a photo of the eye, then someone might be able to identify whats wrong with it, and go from there. Sorry I can't be of much more help.

naw, all advice/other veiw points (which ever it may be is welcome). I will try to get a pic of the FM this weekend. thinking of doing some rework on the tanks. also workin on a planted tank (when I can get things under controll. been thinkin of lookin for another 55 (cheap). I love my fms & cons have never really had that much aggression untill one con started to take over my 55.

the FM is doing much better. the agression has infact lowered quite a bit. I am still lookin at re arranging fish around thanksgiving. if not then possable x-mas.
