Firemouth Loosing Color?

hello all. over the last couple of days i have noticed my firemouth has been loosing his red color under his gills. any ideas ppl?

Size of tank, water stats for ammonia, nitrIte, nitrAte and ph. Is he eating and behaving normally? Any pics?

its very common for fish to go dull in colour and also change a dark colour rapidly when stressed ect how long have you had the firemouths for are they new to the tank also is the tank cycled u said red under the gills ?

i have had him for just under a year. tank has been running for about a year and a half. the red/orange on its belly have faded over the last couple of days.
