Firemouth Companion

As per the title my question is which cichlid would be a good companion for my Firemouth? Only had him for a week and he is about 2 Inches long?

I have a 30 Gallon Tank with my stocking on my sig.

Whats your advice?

Those really aren't compatible. I would take him out, you will have no fish in no time. Maybe then, once you got the Firemouth by itself, you can get some more compatible fish.http/www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=60979

I agree with DiscusLova about compatibility.

Common Pleco - can grow up to 18", ideally needs a 5ft tank minimum.
Red tailed Shark - best kept with similar sized fish
Cherry Barbs - best kept in groups of about 5-6
Harlequin Rabora - best kept in groups of 6+
Firemouth - can be aggressive, best kept with similar sized fish
Neon Tetras can be prone to fin nipping and may end up nipping your Betta.
Guppies are seen as a threat to the Betta as they are colourful and may end up being attacked.

Not only that, the red tailed shark will nip anything with fins, and eat smaller fish, just like the Firemouth.

I can not believe the fire mouth did not eat the neon for that mater the fighter or guppies the others are at lest quick.
