At the moment my largest tank is pretty much fully stocked but if I took out a few fish would I ba able to keep Firemouth cichlids? I have always liked them but never been sure wether they are compatible with my other fish. My stock is in my profile. Also do they need a particular water ph that is different from normal?

i got 4 firemouths, 2 small 3" and 2 5" ones, they keep themselves to themselves and arent overly agressive, ive never had any problems with them, my 4 like to hag around together, in my tank i have typical S.A cichlids so not much agression suprisingly.

Do you think that my 450 is fully stocked? Would I have to take some fish out if I wanted to get some Firemouths?

Yep Its fully stocked. 450 Litres works out to be around 100 UK Gallon. You already have a number of Cichlids - 2 Severums, 1 Oscar, 2 Mozambican Mouth Brooders and an Angelfish in your tank, add to this the other fish you have and I think you'd be pushing your luck to add anymore fish, let alone Cichlids.

yeah agree, if you really like firemouths you could set up a species aqaurium ? maybe sell some of your others to make room if money isnt available. i happen to know if you had a pair of firemouths in their own tank they would spawn and provide you with interesting cichlid parenting skills and a bunch of fry.
