So I have a pair of Firemouths in a 40g tank that also was inhabited by 2 red skirt tetras and 2 convict cichlids. They bred, and now have the 2 convicts living in another tank. They have the whole thing to themselves minus the tetras that are moderately small. It's got a few large live plants growing nicely as well.

My question is, do you remove the fry and seperate them from their parents, or let them do their thing? Are they a species that will gobble them as soon as they are tired of taking care of them, like Angelfish?

I would let the parents take care of them, in most cases cichlids do a good job or rearing their young
