Firemouth Babies

Have 2 firemouths that just had hundreds of babies. When do I need to separate the parents from the babies? At the moment they are doing a really good job of protecting them.

I would say leave them for about 1 month, after which would depend on the tank size, then remove them, put them in another tank, then decide what you gonna do with lots of babies,


What size tank are they in atm ?

both the parents and babies are in an 80gal tank...well, with a divider to separate them from the other fish. So, I guess its 40gal now.

I also forgot. Do I need to feed them anything? I try small flasks, but the parents just eat them all up.
