Whats the best number of Firefish to stock?

I've heard they can be shy and hide alot, if kept alone. If I bought 2 would they be OK with each other?

Won't 1 hide too much in a tank with clowns, and potentially dwarf angel/royal gramma?

And finding a mated pair will be tricky, no?

Finding a mated pair may be tricky but if they are obsorved at the LFS to be calm with each other and not squabble your chances are good that they will pair up. They are shy on their own in close proximity to clowns and dwarf angels.

Remember that while Firefish are easy to feed and generaly hardy,they are easier to outcompete than a Trichordate. My Firefish was outcompeted to death by a Midas Blenny and Bar Goby, even though the tank received copious amounts of feedings.
