Ello, I have a 30 gallon tank with both a Silver Arowana and a Fire eel, before anyone starts telling me I need a bigger tank, I will say they are both juveniles and I plan on upgrading the tank as needed. With that out of the way, i was just wondering what would be a good feeding schedule for them both? The Arowana will eat anything, but the eel is picky and will only go for live prey. Also I've noticed the Arowana seems to have a larger food intake as opposed to the Fire eel, though I think that's mainly due to their lifestyles with one being a very mobile fish while the other is more of a sit and wait type. both are around eight inches long at the moment.

ha ha got to be a wind up!!!! :hyper:

the arowana is a gut laoder and eat an incredible amount and also grow quickly my now deceased 2ft siver arowana used to eat 7 sprats 6 prawns and about the same in mussels twice a day and sometimes my finger end lol it only ate from hand it was lazy lol as for the fire eel they dont seem to eat that much mine used to eat what were left over and fell to the bottom yours will eat dead frozen foods eventually if you dont give it a choice sounds harsh but it will soon realise thats the only food it can get. you will need a large tank in about a month or two mate and when fully grown minimum of 6 x 3 x 3 as they get to just over 2ft and captivity sometimes bigger

Thanks for the answer, I have a new tank ready, just getting a stand made for it. About how often should I feed them? I was feeding the arow about once every two days, the fire Eel is new to the tank and I was trying to get a handle on if I could introduce feeders at the same time or if I had to keep them on different schedules?
