Fins splitting

It seems to me that at least half my fish have split fins at the moment, no other symptoms and no white areas around the fins, but they are split all the same. How do stop this happening? Is it a water issue?

most likely an agresion issue what fish are you keeping and in what?

Its natural for some fish to have a split fins in an african tank especially if they are trying to establish a pecking order or territory....If you add or removed cichlids from an establish tank then you might find them a little bit more agressive than usual and would nip at each others fin....If you have a good water quality all that split fin should heal up in a couple of days....atleast that's the case on my tank....Just my opinion...
