Sad to say, Mars has a touch of finrot, thankfully it seems it's only on his dorsal fin at the mo.

I have already treated with the Interpet med - the instructions say to leave it a week before redosing, but I was wondering if anyone has successfully dosed this stuff more than the recommendation?

finrot is pretty common after a move of homes, since you've already medicated, just keep doing small water changes as this heals fin regrowth

Thanks Lil - 10% daily, even with the medication in? Or wait the week, and then go with 10% daily?

If you do water changes, you are removing the medication, so remember to dose some back to compensate for it, but do try to not overdose.

THank you both for your advice, I think what seems sensible, is to monitor him for a couple of days, and let the med do its thing - if he shows signs of improvement by Sat/Sun, I'll leave it 'til next Wed and do the 10%wc, if there's no improvement, then I'll do the wc earlier.

What does the package say as far as dosing? Is it a treatment you redose every, say, 3-4 days? Everyday? THAT is important to consider if you want to do waterchanges while treating.
I do not recommend changing water during treatment and redosing appropriate amount back into the tank. Leaves too much room for human error and overdose. Not a good idea when using meds. Follow package instructions. They should tell you when and if to do waterchanges during treatment.
all the best
cheers
