doing daily water changes because of mini cycle

one of the platies has fin rot, doing large water changes to try and keep things clean and using melafix, the fin rot seems to be only getting worse.

would it be better to set up a qt tank and do daily 90-100%water changes? along with the use of the melafix and increased airation?

Melafix is no good on bacterial finrot it only good once the fish fins are starting to heal to stop them getting infected.
You will need a bacterial med.
