fin rot. *insert explitives here*

my betta's pectoral fins are quite rotted away *wince* I'm so furious at myself for not noticing earlier. So yes, my lyretail definitely does have finrot, and so does my betta. I discovered that this morning.

upon peeking in just now my precious Hyperion II has some! It's awful, I've never seen this before. When he was just weeks old he had gorgeous white and black coloration. Now he's mostly just jet black. His sailfin, his perfect, lovely sailfin...there's a hole right in the middle at the base :-(

I'm flipping out, especially since tomorrow morning I'm leaving for Toronto for four days. I medicated the tank about 48 hours ago, and it says I should put in another dose, so I'll do that. But, does anyone have any other tips or anything? :/ water parameters are fine, only thing is that the pH is somewhat high, but it kind of always has been.

Thanx a bunch wilder. Hopefully I can run out to my LFS and grab something powerful and good to get this stupid thing away from my precious fish. I don't know what the cause of stress could be. :/ my water parameters aren't too fabulous all the time, but recently they've been great. Darn it. :<
