I conditioned my Yellow DT Female, and My MG DT Male for 2 weeks. I put them together. The Female was very ready, the male made a huge bubble nest but did not seem to know what to do after that. THe pair stayed together without a problem for 3 days. NOTHING. I tried floating her in the tank for 3 days. I put them back together (because we had a storm) 2 more days. NOTHING. Now the males fins were a little frayed from going in and out of the plants etc. I decided to remove him, and let him de-stress. By now the female was so full of eggs, she looked like she would explode.
At the time I started to condition this pair, I got an almost HM CT. Prob about 170-175 degrees. He is mostly royle blue. He has a couple patches of red on his fins. His Ventrals(?) are red. That is why I named him Rooster. It looks like the Waddle(?) on a Roosters throat. Sorry, got a little off track. I put him in a tank next to the 20gal female tank. He has been there for the 3 weeks, I've had him. Since my yellow girl was full of eggs, and I had put 3 weeks into getting her ready. I did not want to waste them. I put her back in a vase in the breeding tank. Changed 3/4 of the water, and put in Rooster. Yesterday, I put them together. Together he is busy working on a bubble nest. THe female is so ready, that she is doing the chasing. It is not violent, like I thought it would be.
I guess it depends on the fish. The female keeps swimming at the male, she tucks her head down, and looks like she is trying to burry her head in his fins. Then he wiggles, and wraps his body around her, like he is trying to give her a hug. I think he is having trouble getting the hang of it. He keeps stunning her, and himself. NO EGGS YET. I'm going to give them some more time to figure it out. So far not a scratch on either 1.

I do have a question. I have read a lot about genetics. I am thinking i will get:
Blue's, Red's, & Multi's. All will carry dt. I hope for Super Delta's, and HM's. Probably Crown Moons. Should There be a few CT's, too? I would guess that if I breed Sibs from this batch, I would get all of the above, MG, and maybe Yellow's too. Anyone know? Or have an educated guess?

With color, it's too hard to tell without knowing the full genetic history of the fish, especially considering such colors as Mustard Gas and Yellow.

As for tail type, you probably won't get any DTs in the first generation, but it may surprise you. I bred a DT male to a Delta female with no genetic history of DT, and I ended up with two fry...one DT, one ST. So you MAY end up with a DT, but you probably won't. In the second generation, you will probably end up with a few.

I also doubt you'll end up with any true Crowns. You'll probably end up with mostly Combtails, which is what the Crownmoon is...a Halfmoon with Combtail tendencies. But you probably won't end up with any of those unless your Crowntail male and DT female have incredible spreads on them. Also, the Halfmoon trait is both genetic and environmental, so optimal conditions are required to get that much tail spread.

Some spawns are very violent. Others are very peaceful. I've seen both. I much prefer the peaceful ones! The violent ones are a little nervewracking to watch.

But it does sound like your pair are well on their way to babies if neither of them offend each other (I've had some get to this point, and then decide they didn't like each other....). But it really sounds like everything's right on track. Give your male a little time...he'll figure it out. It's his first spawn, so he's learning. :)
