your kribs are cute :good:
but the blue gravel, not my thing, well if you like it who cares

Very nice fish tho

Thanks, I take pride in my kribs. I dont like the gravel too much either, but It costs to much to replace.

Thanks! I do my best but I am having an issue with them and I wanted to know if you could help?

They are called Brichardi. Do a google search on them. The white fish is a Brichardi, also. What would you rate my tank?

I like the look of the kribs, it would be easier to rate if we had a full tank shot maybe :p.
To change the gravel is actually quite cheap, if you want to change to sand(which some cichlids really like) it can be very cheap. All you need to do is take all the gravel out of your tank, go get some silica sand, or play sand from a hardware store, which are very cheap for big bags, rinse it out in water several times, and put it in the tank, pretty easy and cheap steps.

But what about cycling? And where the fish will go?

There is very little beneficial bacteria in the gravel - it's all in the filter so changing the substrate shouldn't effect the balance of the tank.

I changed the entire substrate in my 125 gal - left the fish in and just emptied half the tank at a time and the fish occupied the other half. Then i did the other half and the fish moved over, i just repeated the process for adding the new sand.

The fish didn't get too stressed and it was fairly straightforward. :good:

I( am gonna be changing all the gravel in my 20 gallon tank. Kribensis12 i suggest yoiu should do it as well. My rocks look very similar and I used to like it but i want to make a more natural look in my aquarium. However i think doing the gravel change is gonna be a bit more difficult in the 20 gallon than the 124 cause i cant just do half. But it will be worth it. Do kribs eat java moss?
