Well, I don't know if anyone can remember, but a few weeks ago I posted about the new 180L tank I was getting, and I finally have it! It cost £249.99 with stand, and took over 3 hours to setup, thats making stand, adding water, adding aquasafe and doing filters, pumps and heater.

I haven't added any gravel/sand yet, as I am still undecided on what to use, as I am getting a breeding group of 6-8 corys, and have read about them needing fine gravel or sand as it can cause problems with them. Anyway, I should be developing the tank within the next few days, adding the substrate and various rock, wood, and plants. :)

I intend to make this tank as problem-free as possible, so I am going to cycle it for 2 weeks. It is only 2/3 full, as when a week passes I am going to add water from the old tank (which im replacing with new one), and also add that filter, to give a help with the bacteria thats needed. ;)

I should be posting pictures within the next few days, as soon as I find the cable to upload my pictures from the camera onto the pc..

I remember that thread!

Good luck with everything! Did you decide when/how you're getting the fish shipped down from Scotland?

Was that 250 for an entire set up or for the tank and stand alone? 180 liters is right around 50-55 US gallons I believe, wow, that is kinda expensive but probably a good deal over there...

1 pound is roughly $1.5 US, right? $375 is not horrible for a 55 gallon setup if everything is new. Stands here, even ones you have to build, are around $100, and 55 gallon tanks are as well. add in a filter, heater, lights and top and you are right around $350. It's not a great deal, but it's a fair price for new equipment.

Anyways, if all you want to keep are cories (and why wouldn't you, cory tanks are awesome -.^) you can keep more than 8 in there. I've read that they like sand, but I just use fine gravel.

Good luck with your new tank :D

Everything was brand new, if I got the stand and equipment without the stand it would have been £80 cheaper (meaning around $120 less) but the stand was a nice look so I decided to spend.

With the tank I got some plastic plants, 3 books, 3 medications, test kit, 'fluval 4 plus' pump & filter and heater. :) Gravel (25Kg) was also included, pity I wanted sand!
