Finally got Co2!!!

Thanx mate! I have a 4 foot 55g discus tank with 2 40watt lights... (all i could fit on the top)

The Co2 unit has a tubing which is connected to a pump at the bottom of the the tank but its spitting out Co2 bubbles that reach to the surface when they pop would that be getting rid of the co2?

Yea, that's exactly what's happening. You're losing all your CO2, and CO2 needs time to dissolve in the water. Try to position your setup so that the CO2 bubbles into a bell, I use an upsidedown soft drink bottle. Anything plastic like Aquafina or other water brands will do fine as well. Just rinse everything in hot water for a while to make sure no residue is remaining.

Now as long as your bell is in the water and the CO2 is going into that bell, you'll have a good level of CO2 diffusion in your water. HTH, and hope you've got the gist of what I'm trying to explain.

What co2 system do you have? is it yeast? If so what mixture do you use? I'm trying to get mine set up on my 55.

guppy girl im using a Co2 unit from red sea... It comes with a bottle, and i think it uses yeast and sugar??? and it comes with a pump
