Yesterday, Friday, I came home and saw that I had lost an angelfish, my first angel death(I think he was killed by defending alpha male). While I was taking him out, I saw a couple of leaves on my amazon sword laden with eggs. I knew that it was an old couple who spawned before.

On thursday, I put 40 fedder guppies in the 50 long to let them have babies(or the guppies themselves)for my angels to eat.

I went ahead and took the dead guy out, did my water changes, and them did the hard job. I cut the egg leaves of the plant and placed them in a tuberware with the tank water in it. I let that float in the 50 in the basement.

I move the spawners and a third fish to be and agititor(or another female as this is the only unsexed angel I have)to the 50. They acclimated and were released. They hid for the first day, usual.

Today, They are out, and surprisingly not chasing the 40 small guppies in the tank. Those guppies are perfect size for them to eat :shifty:

I fed them some frozen BWs today.

I take a look at the floating tuberware to see many eggs not hached yet as it still been less than 24 hours, BUT I also see some VERY small things dashing arond. They looks like betta fry. They are about one third to one half the size of a newly hatched brine shrimp. Babies right?

Just making sure, babies dont eat for a week or until sac is used up?

Also, Today My last adult angel in the 46 has died. Thats 2 dead angels, my firsts. What could have happened?

I looked today and saw what real angel babeis probably are. They are basilly the eggs plus a wiggling tail. If those are the babies, then what are the things I described in the last post(they have eyes now-the not babies things).

Please help. I'm puzzled. These things are extremely small. Literally the size of a spec of dust dashing around a tuberware.

Thanks

There is a goodchance that some of them are feeder guppy babies. I on multiple ocassions got feeder guppies in the past and had baby guppies at the bottom of the tank. The math even points to it, assuming half of the forty guppies are females, and they give birth about once a month, odds are one had to be ready to give birth within a day or two.

Newborn angel fry will be way smaller then guppy fry..

I don't think the yolk sac lasts a week.. I thought it was more along the lines of 2-3 days.

They cant be guppy fry as he stated they came from eggs fixed to the underside of a amazon sword leaf he removed and placed in a tuberware box.
