I wuz at my LFS looking for a coral and decided I should ask them about some of their fish that would be compatible in my tank. After looking around I decided to get the Hippo Tang. He said it would maxx out prolly around 6 or 8 inches. When I got home I looked it up on liveaquaria and it says 1' :/ Usually I'm more inclined to believe liveaquaria, what's the usual size you guys have seen these tangs? Am I going to have to take him back soon :*)

If it's worth anything to ya - I just did a massive search on google, and of all the several sites I wound up on every one of them said they get to be between 10 and 12 inches.

But - i'm NO expert and don't always rely on everything I find via google.

Regal tang (hippo) reaches 10-12 inces and needs 100 gallons of swimming space. :/

Also they have a reputation for developing whitespot although I've no experince.
