by discoluured do you mean white/ opaque?

if so, my oscar has always had different coloured edges of his fins

Yea, that's the same on my 2. Is it normal? They don't seem in any discomfort or ill.
Ps. Very nice pic and fish, mine are only 5inch as yet but can notice the growth since purchased

mine is about 9" and has always been like that so i thought it normal..... and after googling some do some dont! so it must be ok!!

Well that has put my mind at rest on that. Unless someone knows something we don't LOL

one more thing (a word of warning)i had a blue lobster in with my oscar which was about 7" it moulted and i found it dead the next morning with a soft shell and no legs

There is plenty of hiding places were the oscars can't get too. Hopefully she'll be fine, its actually the oscars I'm worried bout, the lobsters has nipped the a few times
